(very little sewing in class – students can share machines)

Join Arley and learn to make this enchanting & colorful Mermaid.

This class is designed to learn several techniques: fabric painting, face coloring, and embellishments.

Also, we’ll work to achieve a graceful & sensual pose in our doll’s body & hands.

“SIREN OF THE SEA”

We start by painting the upper torso using inks for a “water-color” effect on the doll’s skin. Lace pieces are also painted, and later added to the torso. A simple tail is stitched in class, along with the tail fin & side fins. We will combine yarns and fabric strips to make a stylish wig. A half-day is devoted to making the face.

After the body is put together, the lace is applied & embellished with beads & sequins

Some pre-work needs to be done prior to class (sewing & stuffing upper body)
